16:30h Soap recycling workshop (for adults) and environmental gymkhana (for children).

For adults: Making homemade soap with everyday ingredients, such as oil and caustic soda or sodium hypochlorite.

For the little ones: Recognition of the most common flora and fauna in the place through the search and resolution of clues that will be distributed along a route.

Soap recycling. Making homemade soap is a way to reuse used oil, avoid adding components and additives that are hormone disruptors and contribute to the sustainability of the planet.

Used oil can be used to make washing powder detergent, household soap in chunks and cosmetic soap. It can be made without added flavorings, which is an advantage for people with multiple chemical sensitivities, or with flavorings from essential oils distilled from local flora (rosemary, geranium, cedar, orange blossom, lavender, etc.). The homemade soap, having olive oil as its main ingredient, is moisturizing and nourishing. During the production process, other oils with different properties can be added to provide bubbles, creaminess or hardness.
Environmental workshop. The clues will describe aspects that help to discover the species of flora and fauna found at the activity site. The game consists of finding the clues, one clue leads to the next and at the end you have to find the “prize”. You have 20 minutes to locate the clues and solve them. The activity is done in groups and members cooperate with each other.

Day 03
11:00h Guided visit to a cheese factory and sheep breeding farm in La Mancha.

Discover the elaboration of artisan Manchego cheese, obtained from the milk of sheep that graze in the National Park of Las Tablas de Daimiel and the Dehesa de Zacatena.

The farm is located 15 kilometers from Daimiel, an oasis in the La Mancha steppe of high ecological value, which is evident in the quality of its cheeses.

It is known that cheese has been made from the sheep that graze in the Dehesa since time immemorial. The richness of its pastures, which has been reviewed in different publications, is due in an important part to the Magarza, a high quality grass for sheep with more than 800 years of history.

The current owners and managers work on the farm with the intention of producing the best artisan Manchego cheese, but at the same time to ensure the conservation of the environment for the enjoyment of future generations.

The cheese factory produces artisan cheeses: cured, semi-cured and soft cheeses. In addition to cured cheeses in extra virgin olive oil, of the cornicabra variety, a product also produced in the Dehesa.
