Shepherds and cheeses in the Alto Tajo
Cultural and Workshop
The experience begins in the village of Checa (Town Hall Square), where we will learn about the importance of livestock farming in the region and how it has influenced the landscape and its people (depending on the timetable of the C.I. of Livestock in Checa, a guided tour will be organised), we will walk through the streets to see how transhumance has influenced their facades, balconies… We will go to Orea where we will visit a family goat farm and learn about their day to day life. Finally, we will go to the cheese factory where we will learn all about the work of this artisan cheese factory and we will finish by making a goat’s cheese that we will take home with us.
